Attention S-Mart Shoppers:
Ich bin ein Godfather. Christian Blake Vollmer was born last night. Weighed 9 lbs. 5 oz. I think I'm in line to issue congratulations to the dad (Jason Wayne Vollmer) and the mom (Jen something Vollmer) and the brother (Trenton Edward Vollmer). Of course, since Trent is 2, he could probably care less about my congratulations. So now, I'm stuck in a quandry -- what, exactly, does a godparent do? I know that it involves birthday presents and Christmas presents and guiding the spiritual development of the kid in question, but, apart from that, what? What should I get Christian Blake? I've not conferred with the godmother (Jen's sister) for reasons that I will not go into here. I figure that a present should be something fun, which for an infant is... ummm... well, nothing, really, since an infant is just learning stuff like "how to see" and "what on earth am I?" I've seen that when the kid gets a little older, things like "paper" and "gravity" are pretty fun, but not really present material. Just looking for advice. Comments by: YACCS |
