Job... dissatisfaction... growing...
Apart from doing production, I don't feel like I accomplish anything at my job. I push buttons, I flip a switch, I talk for a little bit, I read the weather, and that's it. At the end of the day, I don't sit back and say, "Look at what I did!" I've never been in a situation like this before. Yeah, I've had crap jobs, but, I'm doing what I went to school for. Mostly. I have a BA in Mass Communications, and I like working with sound. Editing, producing, things like that. I'm not a very good DJ, and I know it. I'm good when I'm working in my own format (stuff you've never heard of), but, I'm never, EVER going to be one of 'those' DJs. The kind with strippers in the studio. The kind that host 'Morning Zoos'. I hate those DJs. Hell, when I listen to the radio, it's only for music. (With the exception of NPR on my way to work. I'm hooked on 'Writers Almanac'. And news.) Not the 'personalities', not the commercials, just the music. I'm a demographic nightmare. Comments by: YACCS |
