Gabba gabba hey! The Ramones are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which adds to the HoF's credibility. One of the few times I've actually thought Billy Corgan said something that was actually not pretentious or full of shit. He was commenting on some induction ceremony, and said something along the lines of 'Does Bon Jovi actually represent what rock and roll is doing today?' Point taken, Mr. Corgan. Point taken.

As I said in an earlier post, The Ramones were instrumental not only in punk, but in saving rocknroll itself. Had they not broken through into the mainstream, The Eagles would still be making music. *shudder* The Sex Pistols, however, were not selected to be inducted. And that's for the best, really. The Ramones were kind of cuddly, in a goofy-looking sort of way, while the Pistols were... not. Besides, if Johnny Rotten hasn't expressed disdain for the concept of a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already, he probably would. And, he'd probably piss on something at the ceremony anyway. The Ramones and The Talking Heads deserve induction. The Sex Pistols deserve it, but, really, inducting them would be against everything the Pistols stood for. McLauren would probably support it, and, well, he's a bastard.

'Good' Ramones movie: Rock and Roll High School
Good Sex Pistols movie: The Filth and The Fury
Good Talking Heads movie: Stop Making Sense
